Who would've thought? The company has been around for almost three months, and we still haven't self-destructed. Not only that, but we can proudly say that we have a large number of satisfied customers. So satisfied that they have ordered our product multiple times, because it's just the right one for their homemade gin and tonic or gin soda. Granted, a bunch of you ordered gin through the website, but there are also those who heard about Zločin i kazan (Crime and Cauldron) on the spot, while visiting one of the events, or should I say "events," where we had a stand.
How did I get there?
The answer to this question is very simple. As a group, we constantly talked about how it would be nice to visit a "prasijada" (pig feast), "kobasicijada" (sausage festival), "kupusijada" (cabbage festival), "rakijada" (rakija festival), "gulašijada" (goulash festival), and so on. Of course, those arrangements would usually fall through, so opening a distillery was a good opportunity to combine pleasure and business. We go, eat, drink, and tighten our belts, but we also bring our craft gin, so people can try and buy a bottle or two.
Do I have to buy a bottle?
Yes, you do, and it's really silly that you even ask such a question?! We're kidding, of course you don't have to. It's up to you to come to our stand, introduce yourself and say – wow, what a super and witty name (you'd be surprised how many times this has actually happened). Then comes the tasting. You choose whether you want pure gin, gin and tonic, or gin soda. And you don't pay for it. But since you've never had a better gin, then it feels wrong not to buy a bottle. So, if we go back to your question, yes, you still have to buy a bottle!
Where have you been until now?
These are really good questions, you imaginary, potential user of our gin. First, we were at the Good Food & Wine Festival "Zvezda Beograda" (Star of Belgrade). I don't want to brag, but we even received a special award there for innovation in brand launching. Then we were at the International Festival "Rakija i Rakijaši" (Rakija and Rakija Makers) in Pančevo. We didn't win an award there, but we did receive the highest ratings in various categories from the esteemed judging panel. And finally, we were at the "Kupusijada" (Cabbage Festival) in Futog. We didn't win anything there, but at least we ate good cabbage.
What's the next "event"?
The next event where you can find us is the 16th Fair of Ethno Food and Drinks, which will be held at the Belgrade Fair in Hall 3. It takes place from November 24th to 27th. By my calculation, that's four days, so you have no excuse not to come. There's not even the "Oh, I would come, but so-and-so annoys me because they didn't lend me a sheet from block number 5 in fourth grade" excuse – someone different will be at the stand every day, since there are between 10 and 160 of us in the company.
